Palazzo Mansi National Museum, a real museum-residence, is a remarkable testimony of merchant’s mansions in Lucca. It was inaugurated as a National Museum in 1977. The first floor holds most of the original furnishings, the precious tapestries and a remarkable Picture Gallery, made up of Italian and foreign paintings. On the second floor there are the rooms dedicated to the Art of 19th and 20th centuries. The Museum also houses the section dedicated to the textile production of Lucca.
